WEEKLY
UPDATE 11/25/2012
Buon
Natale
I've
eaten so much pasta lately, I think I'm becoming Italian. It's
easy, it's cheap, and it's so-o-o good -- what's not to like?
Thanksgiving
was everything I hoped it would be, except for the Lions losing (and
what a horrible, horrible games that was!) I had turkey, mashed
potatoes, and green bean casserole, all eaten in front of the tv as I
watched the games. Dressed in my turkey pajamas, I just relaxed and
enjoyed myself.

After
storing away all the thanksgiving décor, I got out my nutcracker
collection. There are so many, it's hard to believe that I gave away
more than half of what I had before I moved here. This year, instead
of setting them on the kitchen bar, I lined them all up along the
cupboards in the kitchen. I bought myself a new one this year when I
was out shopping a couple of weeks ago. The Home Goods store had
lots of Steinbach nutcrackers and I couldn't resist. All of the
others each remind me of some place special I'd visited, or someone
special.

It took awhile for me to figure out how to comment. I finally clicked on "no comments" and the comment box opened up. I love your nutcracker collection; when we were in Fredericksburg last month I told Fred about our extra trip to town to get your nutcracker after all the shops closed up just as we got to town that first visit. Fred and I rode past "our condo" on Canyon Lake several times as we traversed the Hill Country on the Harley in October too.
ReplyDeleteChad, Katherine and Avery just left. Will leaves tomorrow. We are just chillin' for an hour or so now, and then will go out and show Will some more of the area. Yesterday, Grampa Fred and I babysat and the "kids" went golfing.
My mom fell early this morning and broke three ribs. She is in the hospital and Velia will take Dad to her house to spend the next two nights. Good thing I am already scheduled to go up from this Wed. to Dec. 7. I can get a cot and stay at Dad's apt at the assisted living place and take him back and forth to see Mom. That will help Velia and Tony since they both still work full time.
