Weekly Update 6/16/2019

I didn’t do a lot this week. In fact, I don’t do much of anything any more. It’s an age thing.

I did get to the art gallery opening at SCI for paintings by Preston Russell. He is a local physician who has been painting for more than 40 years. When he retired, he had more time to paint, and now has a large collection. Many of his works focus on Savannah.

I had breakfast one day with Barbara at the Funky Brunch cafe. It is near DH, and she’s wanted to go there. We finally had a chance to get there, and it was good. Not as good as Two Cracked Eggs, but it was fine.

I had a couple of things to go to on Sunday. Charles’ birthday was Saturday, but Sylvia had a few friends over for a gathering (and wonderful cake and ice cream) on Sunday afternoon. After that, I was invited to a barbeque with neighbors who live on Green Square. The owners of the Green Palm Inn, Rob and Angela, were hosts.  Why I was included is a mystery to me, but I was delighted to be included, and it was fun.

  1. Even on weeks where you say you don't do much, you do a bunch! We've managed to meander through LA and a few places in TX so far on our trek westward. Right now we are in San Angelo,TX for a few nights. Then we are headed to 1/2 way between Santa Fe and Taos to see where Dianne and her guy Marty have bought a house. After that we'll go up to Boulder to visit Will -he will be busy by then at his new job (yea! after 7 months he finally has a job!) Next after that, we will be a couple weeks in WY - in Casper, Pinedale, and maybe West Yellowstone. We stop after 300 miles and stay somewhere two nights - so drive a day, stay two nights so Fred can rest on day two, then drive again until we get to a destination. So far our destinations have been Luckenbach, Boerne and San Angelo (all in TX). We will stop in Roswell, NM for 2 nights before seeing Dianne and will stop half way from Dianne's to Boulder for two nights before seeing Will. We are planning only a week or so in advance but if Fred is doing OK,we will eventually get out to OR to visit Carlo and Karen. Periodically, get on FB's Jan and Fred's Excellent Adventure page and see where we are and what we've done. You've been invited but have to accept since it is a secret group.I don't want all the RVers I help plan trips on it since I do not really know them.
