Weekly Update 9/10/2023
SPORTS SPORTS SPORTS!
A great week for watching tennis and football. The women’s tennis finals is what tennis should be. Talented and athletic performers, pushing each other to make unbelievable shots. It’s too bad they both couldn’t win. The men’s, on the other hand, was boring and lackluster. A straight sets win for Djokovic, without ever really being challenged. For the college football games, what’s going on at Colorado? UGA, SU and Georgia Southern all had good wins again this week. There were some exciting NFL games, too. And, how about those Detroit Lions? I don’t think they won the game as much as the Chiefs lost it, but it’s still a win. I was happy about most of the outcomes of Sunday games, but I’ll have to wait until the Bills play tomorrow night to know if Week 1 was a success.
Monday this week was Labor Day. I’m sure that’s a nice holiday for those still in the work force, but it’s just another day for me. I did drive to Ebenezer to the Salzburger Heritage Days festival. When I went last year with Jane and Helen, we were very disappointed. This year was better, and the museums and building were mostly open. I even spent about 10 minutes at the church service, just to be able to get into the historic church building.
I had training at both DH and GM on Wednesday. Interesting, but I think I’m leaning toward ending my DH days and moving to only doing GM. I still haven’t made a final decision, but a few changes being made at DH are not the direction I am comfortable with.
On Saturday, I took a small end table that’s been collecting dust in my garage to the YMCA community garage sale. The group that I knit with was trying to raise funds to purchase more yarn. And this is the reason why I can’t go to yard sales:
