Weekly Update 9/2/2017
This update is a little early, but I'm getting ready for a Big Adventure. I'm leaving tomorrow at 8 am to spend a whole day in airports and on airplanes to get to UK. I probably won't update until I get back to Savannah on 9/18, so this will be it for a few weeks.
I didn't do a whole lot this week except fret over the travel and watch the U S Open.
I did get out to a lecture by the Jepson Center (the lecture was in the Methodist Church across Telfair Square from the Jepson, but the church is larger and a huge crowd was interested in this talk) about the new exhibit on Rodin. It's been 100 years since the sculptor's death, and several traveling exhibits are being shown in several places to mark the anniversary. Savannah is lucky to be able to have a few of Rodin's pieces on exhibit here until January. That's a good thing, as I didn't get to see any on Thursday because there was a deluge of rain along with frightening thunder and lightning (although I hesitate to complain after seeing all the horrifying photos of what Houston is suffering), and I was glad to get to my car and escape to my dry, safe condo.
a new statue was temporarily in place outside the Jepson. |
