Weekly
Update 1/20/2019
I
did nothing this week. Not one thing! In my defense, it was because
I had been called for jury duty starting Monday, so I was unable to
schedule to do anything, thinking I might have to serve. That never
worked out, but each day began with a threat that I may have to
report.
So
one thing I did, was read. I finished the incredibly long, and
sometimes boring, biography of Laura Ingalls Wilder and her daughter,
Rose Wilder Lane. Because Rose died almost 100 years after Laura was
born, the 700+ page tome covered a century of American history
Sunday
was a day of sports watching. I had spent a lot of the night
watching tennis, and continued when I finally dragged myself out of
bed in the morning. After opening the cemetery, I watched The Spurs
win an exciting match. And then, of course there were the NFL
championship games. They didn’t turn out the way I wanted, but at
least the Chiefs did not have the game stolen from them like the
Saints did. The officiating was horrible in both games, but the bad
calls in the AFC game did not affect the outcome; they did in the
NFC. I don’t even know if I’ll watch the Super Bowl (who am I
kidding, of course I will) because I don’t care which of these
teams wins. And now – I have one more week of tennis.
I thought I read this last week after I finally got home from NY but I guess I didn't comment. It was really VERY cold up there andI got to stay an extra day in a hotel due to the snow - and I am so glad it wasn't like that for the wedding.
