Weekly Update 10/22/2017
My friend Sylvia's husband Charles was sworn in as a judge in Savannah on Wednesday. I drove Sylvia to his office for the ceremony, and then became the "official" photographer for the rite. It was a pleasure to be there.
A friend here at MP celebrated her 51st birthday (why can I not get too excited about this?) and also passed her real estate license and is now going to be working for Century 21. So there was a party to fete her on Thursday. Good work, Bobbi!
Friday night, after DH and The 90, Kay and I (and several other people we know) went to the Davenport House presentation of Lafayette in Savannah. Kay and I both know most of the people involved in the production, so that was fun. It was interesting and informative, and a special treat for me to see DH after dark.
Saturday evening, I was invited to a Halloween Party at Donna and Steve's condo at the Merritt. They used to be neighbors at MP, but moved to the other condo development nearby. It was the first chance I'd had to see their new condo, and it was very nice. There were a few people from MP, but mostly new friends they've made. I was dressed in my Buffalo Bills fan costume.
Did anyone see any of the fabulous meteor shower? I went out at 1 am and 5 am on October 21, and it was a clear night. I didn't see any shooting stars. What was all the hype about?
A couple of interesting observations about the Sunday football: Before I went to Coach's to watch the Bills, I watched the Tottenham Hotspurs of the Premiere League on tv at home. I'm beginning to understand and enjoy soccer a little bit more. And then I watched American football. With the soccer, the action is continuous with just a half time break. With any NFL game, they cut for commercials every few minutes throughout the game. That gets old really fast. And also, as the Bills lined up for Hauschka to kick the game-winning field goal, there were shouts in the bar of "wide right". Don't people ever get tired of remembering that??
