Weekly
Update 1/26/2020
It
was cold here
this week, and I didn’t move much. I only went out to walk once.
Monday was a holiday, so City Hall was closed and I didn’t go
there. I’m still on “vacation” from DH, so I didn’t do that.
I did meet Connie for
lunch, and Jane
for coffee, and I went to a lecture one evening. One day, I didn’t
even get dressed! Lazy lazy!
Although
I didn’t do DH on Friday, I did meet Kay at The 90 for a drink.
And then I went to see Matilda the Musical at the SCT. As
always, they did an amazing
job.
Activity
picked up on Saturday. After opening BC, I went to a model railroad
show and sale – emphasis on SALE. The displays were fun, and I
enjoyed seeing it all. After that, I did get out to Lake Mayer and
walked for an hour.
In
the evening, I went with Kathryn to the coastal heritage Society’s
Night at the Museum. That was great! There were impersonators of
eight historic Savannah people, who “came alive” and told their
stories: Johnny Mercer, a Gullah woman who worked in the canning
factory at Pin Point, a Railroad worker, a British Revolutionary War
soldier, General Casimir Pulaski, Susie King Taylor, a Civil War
Sailor and Alida Harper Fowlkes. I really enjoyed that.
Sunday
– and no NFL! What am I supposed to do???
To
help ease my transition, I went out to dinner with Beth, Jackie and
Kay. I mistakenly thought it was Restaurant Week, and made
reservations for us at Vic’s. But the special prices don’t start
until next Sunday. We had a delightful meal anyway. And the purpose really is for us to meet is to see each other, not to gorge on food. It was so very nice.
