Weekly Update 7/17/2022

Well, I finally did it! I hired someone to come clean my apartment. This has been a long time coming. I can do most of the things that need to be accomplished in order for me to be able to live here: clean the bathroom and kitchen, launder my clothes, eat. But I just can’t (and more important, don’t want to) mop my floors, scrub my bathroom tiles, polish my appliances, dust my ceiling fans, vacuum my baseboards. I found a nice lady on the nextdoor app, and she came last Monday. She was here for just over two hours, and did a thorough cleaning. She’s going to come once a month. She’s not cheap, but I just don’t want to do this any more. So, it’s worth it to me.

It was an easy week. There was no City Hall because the a/c broke. I was given the option to come in or not, so I stayed home. There was no DH because they are still filming there. There was no Green Square because Denise worked, Jane had a doctor appointment, and Helen was taking her cat to the vet. My usual scheduled events were all canceled. I was able to go to the pool more, and I was there almost every day. I still enjoy swimming. A couple of times, I had to share the pool with others, but that’s when I get my noodle and just do some aerobic exercises that I remember from many years ago at the Y. At least I’m moving a little.

The one thing I did have on my calendar, a visit to Beltone for a check up, I forgot. I was supposed to go Wednesday morning, and it just slipped my mind. I called and made an other appointment for Thursday. This was at the new center located next to the Publix on Pooler Parkway, so it’s very convenient. I told them I am happy with the new hearing aids, and they gave me a few tips that I’ can probably use to make hearing better.

When I knew that the cost of stamps was going to increase, I wanted to buy forever stamps to have handy. I put it off and put it off until the last minute, and then I didn’t feel like driving to the post office to buy them. I searched online and found a site that sells forever stamps at half price, so I got 100 stamps for $27.50. Not only was a glad to have a bargain, but I hate the Post Office so much, I’m happy not to give them more money than I have to. But, it you don’t get cards and notices from me, it’s because these stamps are bogus. I hope they’re not.

I had a google meet with Adrian on Saturday. I read him two books before he got bored. He is so adorable. And, he’s so close to taking his first steps.
