Weekly Update 8/2/2015
HOME
Back in Savannah. Back
to my chair, my tv, my books. And my Georgia friends.
I spent all day Tuesday
safely snuggled back into my little condo. There was a Georgia
Historical Society lecture that evening, but I was too lazy to
attend. I just stayed in.
I didn't go to the pool
this week, but I went to Ruth's Chris Steak House twice. It's
restaurant week in Savannah, so on Wednesday I met Beth and Kay for a
wonderful tenderloin, and on Friday, I met Susan. Since none had
ever eaten at Ruth's Chris, we all had decided that we should go
there. Works for me, because I love that place. Filet steaks are
very expensive to buy at Publix, I can never grill them perfectly,
and it's a treat to get them when I go out. So this was wonderful.
And the company was terrific too.
When I went to DH of
Friday, I was surprised that I wasn't needed. As schools in Georgia
are ready to begin classes again, the teen-agers who been training as
docents took over this Friday to give all the tours. That's OK - I
could use a couple of weeks off. Since I was already out, I
continued out to the mall to get more bagels and a few things at
Office Max (big back-to-school sales all over Savannah). I was at
Publix the day before, so now I'm well stocked with all sorts of
things to eat, too. I'd like to think I won't have to grocery shop for a
couple more weeks, but I know I'll load up on goodies. And this on a
week when I was out to dinner two times!
Like I said, I didn't go
to the pool even one time this week; in fact I didn't open my front
door all day Saturday and until the evening on Sunday when I met
friend, Donna Wait (who lives at MP) at the club house for a drink
and to talk about my “trip”. It was good to visit with her.
I've been pretty lazy
this week, but I've relished being back HOME!
You look cozy! miss you neighbor!
